How do you keep the balls of your tongue piercing clean?

I recently asked my dad, who has his tongue pierced, how he keeps the bottom of his tongue piercing from getting that buildup on the bottom. He told me he just scrapes it off with his teeth. I personally flip my tongue up and clamp the bottom part of the bar through my teeth and brush the bottom ball with my toothbrush every day. It got me thinking… are there other ways to clean it? I’m curious as to how others keep their bar clean.
