There’s a shocking amount of Pokémon human fusion in this series
One observation I and I’m sure a lot of other Pokémon fans have seen is the amount of Pokémon human fusion there is in the series, and it seems to steam far back.
Pokemon RéBURST, while never being properly translated into English, follows a group of characters who can fuse and use a Pokémon’s powers.
Pokémon The Series: XYZ introduced us to Ash Greninja, a pseudo mega evolution Ash could use that connected it to Greninja, allowing it to be more powerful. Mega Evolution as a whole required a strong bond between the Pokémon and its trainer.
In the main plot of Pokemon Sun and Moon Lusamine allows Nihilego to fuse with her creating the Mother Beast. Also while not intentional Z-Crystals have a similar appearance to Burst stones from Pokemon RéBURST.
Bill has accidentally fused himself with several Pokémon while running a teleportation experiment. In FRLG this is a Clefairy's, in the Adventures manga this is a Rattata, and in Let’s Go this is a Nidorino.
Detective Pikachu himself has the conscious of Harry Goodman. In the live action movie Howard Clifford is able to merge his mind with Mewtwo.
In Detective Pikachu Returns Charles Merloch is able to fuse his mind with Deoxys.
And finally, in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet we get access to the Synchro Machine in the Indigo Disk DLC which allows us to control a Pokemon in our party.
What do you guys take from all of this? Will Pokémon human fusion become a major plot point at some point in one of the games? With us returning to the Kalos region soon in Legends Z-A I can see it as a possibility especially regarding Mega Evolution. If you can think of any other examples I may have missed share them as well.
