16 week ultrasound disappointment

I found out by blood test that he’s a boy at 13 weeks when the test was conducted at 12. I saw my follow up appointment said ultrasound to confirm gender, so I was looking forward to seeing my son again now knowing he’s my son, not just my baby. I get there, she asks if I know what the baby is and I said he’s a boy. She says yes and she pulls out a Doppler and we listen to his heart- that’s it. I’m thrilled to hear his heart! I’ve never heard it- just seen it on ultrasound. I still am a little disappointed I didn’t get to see my baby boy today 😞. It works out though because my bf wasn’t able to come to this appointment and we were super sad, but turns out he didn’t really miss much! He’s asking for the 20 week one off today in advance so we can see our little boy together 🥹.
