First Pu erh, unsure as to what is wrong.

Yesterday, I ordered some Pu erh tea through Amazon as I wanted to try some before I make my big purchase off of Yunnan sourcing. This is the first time I have tried Pu erh and it just seems very bland and boring compared to my other teas. The leaves look large and the cake smells normal until I do the first wash then there is a fishy undertones, it smells almost like seaweed. The taste profile, after a 30 second first steep then 2 minutes steep (150ml of water and 5g of tea) is almost non existent, it's slightly bitter and that's about it. I've attached photos and I want to know is this normal for a Pu erh like this and would those of YS be better tasting?
