Looking for "unconventional" roguelite with actual progression

Alright I'm not gonna pretend like I'm a HUGE roguelite fan but those I liked oh boy did I like them. Thing is I have a hard time getting out of the "dying = waste of time" mentality and with the way my ADHD brain if I feel like I'm wasting time and not progressing in any way, shape or form, I will lose interest fast.

Games I loved:

- Cult of the Lamb: It's not that hard of a game + you actually get stuff out of your runs even if you fail. Anything remotely similar to that game will be absolutely perfect

- Returnal: I can't explain why but this game is now in my top 5 favorite games ever. The progression was interesting with unlocking equipment that allows you to get to new areas, therefore more buffs and items and such + perfect gameplay and intriguing storyline

- Dead Cells: My first roguelite. I absolutely had a blast playing until BC2 which is where I drew the line. I'll draw it out as a skill issue, game got too rough for my liking and progression becomes extremely tedious at that point

Games I didn't like:

- Enter the Gungeon: In theory, I love that game. In practice, I'm just too shit at it to progress anywhere further than the 3rd level

- Hades: I cannot explain how much I hated that game. Another skill issue I'll admit but I made it to [REDACTED] within my first 3-4 runs and attempted him so many times until I gave up. Runs became boring really quick and I stopped playing

- Risk of Rain 2: Enemies are way too janky and some of them have literally no wind-up to them, making it humanly impossible to reliably avoid taking damage. Really not my cup of tea but I'll do a few runs with friends because it's a lot less painful
