Good Dice Pool Systems?
I love D6 pool systems, especially any system that gives the possibility of mixing and matching Traits and Skills for different situations. For example, roll something like Agility + Pistols to fire a gun, but roll Intelligence + Pistols for what you know about guns.
Originally, I was drawn to Shadowrun due to how fun the setting can be and how in love I was with an almost pure contest system. Lately though, I've begun to get a little tired of how poorly maintained it is.
I've always been in love in the incredible openess of its character creation, but the core rules themselves are written so poorly that executing anything other than bog standard builds gets weighted down in interpretation.
Short example: touch spells. I got so many answers on how to interpret the rules for this that it took me going to Gencon and asking Jason Hardy "How the fuck are touch spells supposed to work?" to finally get an answer (The touch attack is part of the spell resolution, it is not a separate action).
At this point, I want to experience other pool systems. I prefer d6 due to having so damn many of them, but I'm open to anything. I'm not afraid of crunch and I'm totally fine with researching rules. My two main gripes with any system are a lack or illusion of choice and needless complication.
