Gears/products hype on saxophone forum

No intention to speak ill of any product or vendor; just want to express my feelings. A while ago, I was browsing Sax on the Web for recommendation of new MP (driven by GAS), and I noticed a particular brand being highly recommended and praised. It seemed extremely popular on the forum. Unable to resist the temptation, I decided to give it a try. The mouthpiece plays just fine, but it didn’t quite live up to the lofty claims made about it. It performs similarly to my Vandoren V16 T6, yet costs twice more as much.

I considered returning it, only to find out that the return policy applies only to full retail price purchases, and the price I paid, widely advertised, was not the regular price. It was my mistake to assume that a return policy is standard practice in today's business world. However, I’m curious as to why this vendor and their products receive so much attention and praise on Sax on the Web.

I’m reluctant to use the word 'hype,' but I can’t think of a better term. I have purchased high-end mouthpieces of other brands before, and I found their return/exchange processes to be much more satisfactory. Additionally, their mouthpieces seemed to perform better than this specific brand. Despite this, these other brands only receive a fraction of the attention that this particular brand gets. I just don't understand why there's such a thing going on the forum...
