What makes some people so much taller?

Hey everyone. I'm from India and stand at 171cm (5 7). I would say I'm average in my country and while I would have really preferred to be tall (over 6ft 2 inches) I wouldn't say I've had any problem in my life due to being short. I am very happy mentally, have a great girlfriend, great social life and also recently got accepted into a decent medical college. This isn't a flex or anything I'm just saying that if people stopped hyperfocusing on the negatives I think everyone's life would be much better in this sub.And most people here aren't debilitatingly short to begin with.
Anyway so today I came across this height percentile calculator tool and turns out I'm in the top 25th percentile in my country in terms of height. But in USA I'm in the bottom 25th and in some european countries I'm in the bottom 5th which is absolutely crazy to me. Why are we Indians so short? I get the protein part in the diet but the entire country is genetically predisposed to being short. Why is that? Also why are europeans so tall?
Lastly, I'd like to say, in my day to day life I've never felt the impact of being short. I've never felt bad stares or felt unwanted or mocked. But whenever I watch content related to height on youtube, or see height related memes, or open this subreddit for eg, I feel kind of ashamed of my height. And I feel like this is the case for a lot of us. We ignore the actual real life feedback and just focus on memes and sad stories of others despite the fact that we've never experienced a lot of it ourselves. There is a lot to life which we conveniently choose to ignore and we shouldn't.
