Can I watch the Reawakening movie or I watching season 1 a must?

Hi all,

So I saw that my theater is going to show the Reawakening movie and I just love anime on the truly big screen, I want to support that. I however haven't watched this anime yet. It's a bit unclear to me if I should watch season 1 first or leave it to the movie because apparently it covers season 1. But in what way does it cover it? Also, if I watch the first season 1 first, how much of what I just watched at home will I see again in the theater?
