Need Help with Assessing a Building’s Safety in Sri Lanka
Hi everyone,
I’m dealing with a situation involving a small two-floor building. The ground floor is a bathroom, and the upper floor is an annex. The problem is, there are no beams—everything is built directly on the walls, which doesn’t feel safe or secure.
I want to know:
Who should I contact to inspect the building and assess its safety?
Are there any government bodies or trusted professionals in Sri Lanka who handle these kinds of structural evaluations?
I’m worried that modifying the building (like adding beams) might cause further issues, and I’d prefer to get expert guidance before proceeding.
Any advice on where to start or whom to call would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
