Series with great characters

I've been enjoying series of books with an immersive world and great characters. Two that I've enjoyed recently are Shawn Inmon's Middle Falls Time Travel series and Dungeon Crawler Carl. Neither are "great literature" but both are well-written with fun plots, good world building, and characters that feel real. What would you suggest?
