Finns det någon institutionell rasism i sverige?
Nuförtiden pratar man mycket om Institutionell/strukturell rasism i samhället.
Intressant nog släpptes nyligen en officiell rapport från Storbrittanien om just detta. Dom försökte undersöka så gott dom kunde om det finns någon institutionell rasism i Storbrittanien.
Slutsatsen av rapporten: översatt till svenska: Dom kan inte hitta några bevis på institutionell rasism orsakar de skillnader vi ser mellan grupper.
"We found that most of the disparities we examined, which some attribute to racial discrimination, often do not have their origins in racism."
"This Commission finds that the big challenge of our age is not overt racial prejudice, it is building on and advancing the progress won by the struggles of the past 50 years. This requires us to take a broader, dispassionate look at what has been holding some people back. We therefore cannot accept the accusatory tone of much of the current rhetoric on race, and the pessimism about what has been and what more can be achieved."
Frågan är då, går det här resultatet att översätta till Svensk kontext? Har vi någon institutionell rasim i Sverige?
Dom ger också en förklaring till varför vi kan tro att det finns mer rasism nu. För iom internet och social media så kan människor posta till alla andra anonymt, vilket ger stort utrymme för mycket rasism online.
Och kan man lära något av rapporten till svensk kontext? Dom säger specifikt vad man kanske borde kolla på om man vill göra samhället bättre.
"There is much evidence to suggest, for example, that different experiences of family life and structure can explain many disparities in education outcomes and crime. Early years experiences, including stability and security at home, matters to children more than anything else. "
