Why are people posting pictures of the hight difference between them and their partners on here?

Does anyone else find it weird?

Its not something I've ever thought about doing so I can't imagine the reasoning behind it, so maybe someone can enlighten me? What do you gain from showing strangers your height difference, wouldn't you rather want comments from your friends?
