SSD getting really slow from time to time.

Hi everyone, my SSD gets insanely slow sometimes I don't know what triggers it, and when it does my whole system gets insanely slow and unresponsive, task manager takes minutes to open and exiting a game takes 10 minutes, and anything that's on the drive stops responding etc. What could be causing this? The disk isn't even remotely full and the drivers, firmware etc are all up to date. The SSD model is EMTEC X150.
