Theory: Teen Titans Go! #24 (Power Failure) - The swapped powers and abilities the Titans received symbolize what they are lacking to grow.

Hi, this is my first post on Reddit

I know it does not seem that big of a deal, and it seems like a stretch, but I had theories of why the Titans swapped and obtained the powers they received from the mystical jewel (it first originated in Season 2, Episode 9) in the Power Failure story in Teen Titans Go!

The specific powers that the Titans received illustrate what each Titan is missing or struggling with.

• Robin gets Starfire's powers: Robin, usually serious and brooding, suddenly feels more joyful and expressive when he has Starfire's powers he even said Starfire's catchphrase when he learned how to fly. Robin acquiring Starfire's power could potentially help him become more like Nightwing (in the comics), someone who is confident and not as dark and brooding as Batman. It seems that Robin was lacking that joyful, more carefree side of himself.

• Starfire gets Cyborg’s cybernetics: Starfire, who’s often a bit distant from Earth because she’s from space, gets Cyborg’s tech abilities. She did not use the broader abilities of Cyborg, but she should be able to absorb information and understand the Earth better as opposed to assimilating languages through lip contact, which grounds her and helps her relate more to the world around her. She’s missing that connection to Earth and this helps her feel more at home.

• Cyborg gets Beast Boy’s powers: Cyborg, despite his colourful personality, seems to rely on his technology and logic/reasoning and gets Beast Boy's powers, which are more about nature and animal instincts. Interestingly, both of them can manipulate their bodies, but one of them is cybernetic, and the other is genetic-based as well as senses, where cyborgs are based on sensors while Beast Boy has enhanced senses. Cyborg having Beast Boy's power should make him able to trust his own instincts and think outside the box (similar to what Beast Boy said about being a turtle in the 'Crash' episode) instead of always relying on his tech to solve problems and finding an intuitive and creative way of thinking.

• Beast Boy gets Raven’s powers: Beast Boy, who usually acts on instinct and doesn’t think too much, now has Raven’s mystical powers. To use them, he has to focus, meditate, and think deeply, which is the opposite of his usual impulsive behaviour. In this issue, Raven teaches him that he needs to be patient and give her space to show how control is key since Beast Boy tends to interrupt Raven's mediation rituals. Interestingly, Beast Boy's powers are physical compared to Raven which are metaphysical (psionic and mystical).

• Raven gets Robin’s skills: Raven, who usually prefers to stay quiet and out of the spotlight, suddenly has Robin’s martial arts skills. She’s not used to being a fighter or standing out, but having his skills pushes her to be more confident and get physically involved, even though she’s usually reserved. She’s missing that confidence in herself to take charge. Also, interestingly, Raven was born with immense power as opposed to Robin, who gained and honed his skills through hard work (and a bit of genetics).

In short, the powers they swapped are a reflection of what each Titan is missing in their own lives—things they need to grow as not only heroes but people.

"Power Failure" would have been a great episode on Teen Titans with the Titans having to learn how to use these powers and understand the previous owners especially Beast Boy with Raven's powers and how she needs to focus and stay in control so there would not be any accidents it could teach him to give her some space instead of interrupting her meditation rituals.
