Why are so many dinosaurs "missing" from Evrima?

I'm not a programmer or anything so obviously I don't know everything that goes into developing these games, but it couldn't be difficult to add at least some of the legacy dinos to Evrima, could it? It just feels weird that icons like the T-Rex, or heavy hitters like the Theri aren't available
