Pine Barrens - What happened with the Russian

I've read something that said a scene for the series finale was going to be created to show the Russian as a mindless janitor at a Russian club Chris and Paulie were attending. They see him and finally finish the job they were set out to do. David Chase was apparently against it and said the Russian was found by some boy scouts and his Russian friends came for him and sent him back to Russia to heal.
