Cult classics in Tollywood like Rockstar in the past decade?

It’s been 11 years since Rockstar released in Hindi (11/11/11) and it’s a cult classic, with a lot of following to this date, including me and a vast majority of my friend circle. It’s a masterpiece in every sense, music, screenplay and dialogue are carefully crafted and characters are executed skillfully even though it might not have resonated with every demographic.

Other movies from Bollywood of that mould include Barfi, Dev D, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye!, Haider, Znmd so on in the last 12-13 years.

I struggle to identify Telugu movies which you can cherish in your hearts or have a conversation with your friends everytime you have a sitting with them (iykwim) in the same way apart from 1-2 like C/O Kancherapalem and may be Pelli Chupulu (which is honestly stretching it). Most movies are either family entertainers, action masala movies and outright hits/blockbusters with overused tropes and characters who we cannot connect to, nor do they have a lot of inner conflict in lead characters and have barely any relatable characters. Agent Sai or Arjun (from Jersey) can be cheered for but cannot be related to.

I’m not essentially pointing out that there are no good movies or characters in Telugu movies, I’m just saying that one of my gripes with Telugu cinema is it fails to carefully build characters which people can relate even after 10-15 years. Thoughts on the same? Or am I missing something very obvious?
