Help Me :( bubbles and no eating
This is T-Herbo. He is a Russian Tortoise and he’s about 3/4 years old. I bought him 2 days ago for $150.
Truthfully i’m not an expert and I understand that this is a process that teaches patience as well as it is a learning curve. Simply put, T-Herbo is still adjusting. At his previous home he was amongst other Russian Tortoises and housed in an aquarium tank. I think he’s stilling warming up to adjust with being alone here with me.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get his encapsulation temp correct until about 33 hours after everything was delivered. He hasn’t eaten and he’s had a few tiny bubbles that occurs here and there. It isn’t a continuous occurrence and the bubbles(count of 2/3) are very small and then it stops, and then happens again very far apart. Now that he’s all set up he seems to love his basking area and moves more. There is no noticeable discharge and it hasn’t happened since about an hour ago.
Some researches suggest that it’s stress from the environment change or on the worse end Respiratory Infection. I’m just asking for advice please. Is this a minor thing? Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I’m hoping that whoever sees this can just nicely tell me what to do without making me feel worse than I already do. Thanks in advance and I will update Herbo status !
I feel selfish that I got Herbo all because I wanted a pet, and I feel bad that I have moved him from his home. I’m just hoping the bubbles aren’t anything serious.
