Although being over 20 years old, what games do you feel still hold up til this day.

In a recent post I asked "What older games do you feel are better than today's games?"

After receiving great responses and then posting my own opinion to the original thread (quoted below), I thought the question deserved more nuance, hence this post.

Age of Empires II (1999) - The only RTS that made me speak out loud in different languages. Some may argue for Starcraft (understandably so) but AoE2's range of history is more compelling to me.

Sid Meier's Pirates! (2004) - Some may argue that Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (2013) is better. The fact that a 2013 game is still battling a 2004 game on which is better kinda says it all. The sad fact is, 11 years later, we still don't have a pirate sim that can beat these two.

ESPN NFL 2K5 (2004) - Many will argue that this is the best American Football sim ever made and I agree. Unfortunately, after this game was released, EA purchased the exclusive rights to the NFL license for 1.5B, eliminating any competition. Regardless, gamers are still playing this game via emulation.

Impressions Games City Building Series - Caesar), Pharaoh), Zeus: Master of Olympus, and Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom. Not only do these games still hold up well but there are many gamers still seeking spiritual successors without success.
