Building My Dream Ultimate PC: Ryzen 9950X3D, RTX 5090, and Custom Liquid Cooling – A Guide and Work-in-Progress

Hello, I am building the system that I have been dreaming of for a long time. It will take some time to complete, as the last part, 9950X3D, will arrive in March 2025. The reason I’m opening this topic is to correct any mistakes I might be making, thanks to your feedback. You might also have different suggestions, and I can implement them. I know such a system is everyone’s dream, but I’ve only been able to build it now at the age of 30. Since I live in the US, I can access most of the parts as soon as they are released. I hope building such a computer will be an opportunity for everyone. This topic can also serve as a guide for you.

I wanted to build a system with custom liquid cooling, which I would place next to the monitor that looks like a piece of art, and would not need an upgrade for 4-5 years. After CES 2025, I finalized my decisions about what to buy and what not to buy. I will share the list of the parts I’ve purchased and plan to purchase and will keep this topic updated regularly. I’ve never built a custom liquid-cooled system before, so this will be my first. After researching, I decided to use PMMA transparent 14mm tubes. Since this is going to be the ultimate system, the processor and GPU are obvious choices: 9950X3D and RTX5090. Since cooling doesn’t matter, I plan to buy the cheapest RTX 5090 I can find as soon as it’s released. Preferably the Founders Edition, as it will have the lowest price and collector's value.

I will include links to the products I have purchased, which are in transit or waiting at home. For products without links, I haven’t decided yet or haven’t found them on the market yet. I can return and replace the products I’ve purchased within 30 days. If you think there’s a better option or an incompatibility issue with any part, please let me know.

System components

first update: Alphacool states they won't be making a waterblock for FE card soon due to it's weird design. I'll probably go with MSI Suprim or Gaming X, or Asus whichever I find first.
