Is the Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate conversion trick still working? May 2023

Hello, I want to buy some Xbox Live Gold codes to convert them into Game Pass Ultimate time but I don't know wether that trick is still working or not and I don't want to risk wasting 80 or 120€ for nothing. Currently I don't have a suscription active because it expired last month I think. Is it still working? Is it worth doing it? Thank you.
