Definitely low or no oil in the car, same thing happened to me 2 years ago before I got into working on my own car. You need to check your oil before you blow a rod, if you have no oil put some in and baby it Bc it may be on its last leg. If it has oil check the battery and alternator. But I can almost assure you that there is no oil and the car is cutting off Bc of that so you don’t completely wreck the engine.

I think this was it. I'm fairly new to cars and didn't wipe the dipstick off when I originally checked the oil. Today I checked it after wiping it off and there was virtually no oil in there. Went to the store, got the correct oil for the car, and put it it. After letting it sit for 15 min I turned the car on and just kept it in park for a few min before taking it slowly around the neighborhood. So far no problems but I will update if anything happens. Did you need to get anything looked at/repaired? What would have caused all the oil to leak out/burn off?

Cars naturally burn oil off, that’s why you have to change the oil after so many miles. I’m not sure if your car is leaking or burning excessive oil you would have to either look around the engine and underneath the car to see if u notice a oil smell or even physical residue of oil on like the oil pan or something like that. I would say get your car inspected most places charge $100 too check everything so you can have a clear idea of what’s possibly wrong if anything is wrong.
