Take the class, maybe you'll make some more friends. And if not then you still got an enriching experience of engaging with/learning about your culture! I'm mixed and racially ambiguous, and I felt similarly to how you did in high school. Just remember we are not a monolith. Focus less on how others might perceive you, and more on pursuing topics and stuff that interest you. You're interested in this class and interested in making more black friends, I think thats a good place to start. Having friends you can identify with and provide you with that sense of community can be so healing 💗. And like other comments have said no one is going to think you're out of place for taking an African American history class, you don't have to worry about that.

Ah, I get that. There are so many easy ways to celebrate your culture. You can watch movies, support Black businesses, etc.
